下馬碑 A HORSE-DESCENDING TABLET

台南孔廟康熙二十六年頒發一下馬碑，下旨文武百官庶民經過孔廟前需要下馬以示敬重。

The Tainan Confucian Temple was bestowed a horse-descending tablet in the 26th year of Kangxi. By the imperial edict, any passersby- be they government officials, army officers, or commoners, should descend from their horses in front of the temple to show respect.
